BHOPAL, 14 April 2006 — A complaint has been lodged against Lal Krishna Advani, former president of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, for blaspheming against Christ and hurting religious sentiments of Christians under Section 153A IPC (Indian Penal Code). The complaint has been lodged with the chiefs of Gujarat and Delhi police by John Dayal, member National Integration Council, on Wednesday. He has requested to treat his complaint as FIR (First Information Report). John Dayal in his complaint said that in the course of last one week, Advani has been repeating the blasphemous comments at public meetings which have been covered extensively by the electronic media. “I have personally seen this coverage on at least three occasions and so have the remaining residents of Delhi who watch the English version of the NDTV news and other TV Channels,” Dayal wrote. The offensive statement runs as follows: “We have been crucified, and that too, on a Friday but we were resurrected and that too on a Sunday.”
