RIYADH, 16 April 2006 – A fire at the staff residential facility of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh caused breathing difficulties for several people and damaged an apartment on Friday.

Dr. Qasim Al-Qasbi, executive supervisor general of the hospital, said that on noticing the flames at 10.30 p.m. at apartment no. 121 in the second floor, the Civil Defense people were notified immediately. All the hospital workers residing in the building were evacuated in a short time. The fire caused by electrical short-circuit was put out in 15 minutes after cordoning off the street leading to the hospital, Al-Qasbi said.
