RIYADH, 26 April 2006 - Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received Yemeni Ambassador Mohammad Ali Alahwal at his office yesterday.
KHC's Ahmad ibn Fahad Altobaishi, assistant executive to the prince, Ali Al Nashwan, executive manager of the humanitarian department, and Manal Alshammary and Roaa Sharaf from the Protocol Department also attended the meeting.
Alahwal conveyed Yemen President Ali Abdullah Saleh's message to the prince. The message appreciated the prince's generous humanitarian efforts toward rebuilding the Al-Dhafir village. The rockslide disaster, which struck the village in December 2005, took many lives and destroyed at least 30 homes. The prince's prompt and brotherly efforts depict the strong ties between the two countries and their people.
The meeting also discussed Prince Alwaleed's upcoming visit to Yemen in response to a formal invitation received from the Yemeni president. The two focused on the further rebuilding of Al-Dhafir village and initiative to establish solid hotel investments in the region.
Alahwal stressed the importance of maintaining strong bilateral relations.
