RIYADH, 30 April 2006 — A tense standoff between an Indonesian maid and local police in Riyadh ended peacefully after embassy officials promised the woman a ticket home, the daily Al-Watan reported. The maid went to the top of a government building and threatened to jump after discovering that her husband back home had married another woman. As police approached her, she moved closer to the edge of the building. Finally, Indonesian Embassy officials promised her a ticket home where the husband is likely in for an unpleasant surprise.
