The “Women in Business International Forum 2006” will be held in London on May 22-24 in association with UK Trade and Investment. This forum aims to promote commercial opportunities between the British and Arab business communities. The forum attracts owners and representatives of over 200 companies whose net value is in excess of $5 billion with genuine business-to-business interaction. Last year’s forum resulted in known business between delegates of $12 million.
This year’s forum has been extended to provide greater networking opportunities together with specific expert panels. Sectors covered will include education, branding, marketing and business financing. Some of the topics scheduled for discussion are, “The Developing Role of Working Women in the Arab World,” “Managing the Work-Life Balance” and “Globalizing the Impact of Women on the Economy.”
Set up nine years ago, Women in Business (www.forwomeninbusiness.com), a not-for-profit company based in the UK, organized the first international conference aimed at highlighting the entrepreneurial achievements of women in the Middle East and provided a vital platform where businesswomen from the Middle East could network. Since then the event has expanded to highlight the role of women in business all around the world.
As well as running Business Skills Training programs, Women in Business and the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, have launched a joint membership benefits program called “Women in Business at the Chamber.” Recently WIB organized the first Women in Business Sessions at the Jeddah Economic Forum.
