BEIRUT, 15 May 2006 — Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi recently held a charity concert in Lebanon and donated all the proceeds to the orphanage, Oaksilia. A large crowd attended the concert. Haifa surprised everyone by announcing that she would adopt the children at the orphanage and would do all she could to reunite them with their biological mothers and ensure that they live a respected life away from poverty.
Haifa is expected to hold a press conference with the organizers of the orphanage to announce that the proceeds of her concert will go to help the children and their families. Haifa also announced that she would begin a huge campaign aiming at helping a large number of mothers care for their children and so prevent them from placing their children in orphanages.
