JEDDAH, 21 May 2006 — A Pakistani man uttered “I divorce you” three times to his wife, thus sealing the divorce, after he found her in the bedroom with another man — who was fixing the air conditioner. The 30-year-old woman had gone to the neighborhood repair shop to ask help in fixing an air conditioner that gave out. The nosy property owner decided it was his self-prescribed duty to get involved in the personal lives of others and called the wife’s husband after seeing her enter the apartment with a strange man, the daily Al-Madinah reported. The husband immediately came home. Outraged at the unthinkable image of another man standing in his bedroom, he divorced his wife on the spot.
