BEIRUT, 23 May 2006 — Lebanese singer Assi Hilani has completed recording the songs for his upcoming album “Fi Marfa’ Ainak” (At a Glance), which is due to be released by the end of June.
The album features ten songs, one being the poem “Fi Marfa’ Ainak,” which is written by the prominent Nizar Qabani and which the singer chose as the title of the album.
Assi will be performing this summer with the famous Karakila dance group at the historical Ba’albak Theater, “fulfilling a lifelong dream,” he said.
Agreement was reached between Assi and Abdul Halim Karakila for Assi’s participation in the musical play. In addition to singing he also has a major acting role.
Assi revealed that this experience would open the gateway for him in the acting world.
He has not revealed the nature of his role in the play, but Assi has made it a point to publicly express his joy over his new opportunity.
