CAIRO, 28 May 2006 — The estate of Egypt’s Cinderella, Soad Husni, has warned the producers of a show about her life to remove what it claims are inaccuracies in the script that misrepresent facts and insult the actor and her family.
Egyptian producer Jamal Al-Adel recently filed a lawsuit against the drama’s production company, Tareq Nour, claiming that he paid three million Egyptian pounds for exclusive rights to a drama about Husni’s life.
Meanwhile, production has begun on the drama, directed by Samir Seif, in Egypt and London and is expected to last for three months.
Most of the cast for the drama has been chosen, including Midhat Saleh, Tamer Habib, Sami Maghawri, Ghada Rajab, and Sherrie Adel. The drama, written by Atef Bishai, will be screened during Ramadan.
