JEDDAH, 28 May 2006 — Sheikh Omar Binladin, chairman of the executive board of Saudi Binladin Group, visited Gulf Medical College and GMC Hospital in Ajman recently and commended the achievements of Thumbay Moideen, president of the two successful institutions in the United Arab Emirates.
Binladin invited Moideen, an Indian business tycoon based in the UAE, to Saudi Arabia to carry out various projects, said a GMC press statement .
Moideen presented a memento to Binladin as a token of appreciation for his invaluable contribution and support to the college.
Abubaker Al-Hamed, managing director of the group, accompanied the Saudi businessman. Both of them praised the activities of the medical college and hospital.
Registration is now open at GMC Ajman for MBBS and BPT programs for 2006-2007, the statement said.
GMA offers MBBS degree programs with a capacity for 60 students and BPT programs with a capacity of 25 students of all nationalities, Moideen said.
“Our college has an international faculty and a student body representing 39 nations,” he added.
Training at the college is at par with any of the best and well-established medical colleges in the world, he pointed out.
“The teaching faculty at GMCA consists of highly qualified and well-experienced professors who are dedicated and fully committed to provide the students with good training in the medical field to make them competent doctors,” the businessman said.
GMCA Hospital and Research Center is an integral part of the college.
“It is the first private teaching hospital in the UAE with a capacity of 250 beds,” Moideen said.
