RIYADH, 29 August 2006 — An attempted rapist was caught after authorities made and distributed a police sketch based on the victim’s description of her attacker, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday. The youth broke into a Riyadh residence and attempted to rape a woman who was home alone at the time. The perpetrator threatened the woman with an iron bar, but she managed to escape his attempted sexual assault.
The man beat the woman and escaped with her mobile phone. The police arrested a suspect after distributing the sketch locally.
