JEDDAH, 9 June 2006 — A cell phone subscriber is thinking of taking a bank loan to pay a SR51,000 phone bill which he ran up after only using his phone for three days. The man was shocked when he received the mammoth bill in spite of the fact that his contract stipulated that he was only be able to make calls worth a maximum of SR300 for the three days. The man said that his younger brother had used the cell phone to send text messages but denies that charges could ever come up to this huge sum. He rushed to the cell phone company only to be told to first pay the bill and then complain. The company has assured him that upon receipt of the money they would look into the matter. According to the local media the man is thinking of taking a bank loan or approaching a charity to raise the money.
