JEDDAH, 13 June 2006 — The Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh will have a commercial consul to cope with the demands of the growing economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The appointment will be made shortly, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Shahid Karimullah said.
Addressing a function organized by the Pakistani Consulate General in Jeddah on Saturday night, Karimullah said the consul would look after the commercial requirements of Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
Ambassador Karimullah has been striving to resolve problems the Pakistani community faces, particularly related to the Pakistan International School in Jeddah.
“I have met several officials in the Education Department to sort out the school issue,” the ambassador said.
A number of businessmen and journalists also attended the function hosted by Consul General Masood Akhtar.
