JEDDAH, 14 June 2006 — Egyptian actress Sabireen is reappearing as a heroine in a new TV serial, “A Scrapbook for Every Citizen” that has finally started shooting after being postponed following the death of the mother of its producer, Nahed Fareed Shauqi, Al-Watan daily reported yesterday.
Sabireen has been away from the screen for quite some time after the popular Umm Kulthum serial.
The cast of the serial directed by Adel Qutb with Fida Al-Shandowaili’s script includes Riyad Al-Khuli, Jameel Rateb, Jihan Fadil, Tariq Abdul Aziz, Susan Badr, Nabil Nuruddin, Tamer Yusra, Naji Saad and Ehab Fahmi.
Sabireen is playing the role of a wealthy businessman’s wife who learns 10 years after the marriage that all her husband’s money was earned illegally. She is thrown into a severe inner conflict about her right to enjoy the fruits of ill gains.
Sabireen has also agreed in principle to do the lead role in another serial Mawwal Al-Nahar (“Daytime Folk Singer”) after completing the present assignment.
