ISLAMABAD, 16 December 2006 — Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz arrived here yesterday after a four-day successful visit to Saudi Arabia. The prime minister visited the Prophet’s Mosque yesterday and offered Friday prayers before leaving for Islamabad.
He was seen off at the airport by Abdul Kareem Al-Hunaini, deputy governor of Madinah, and other high officials. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Shahid Karimullah, Consul General Masood Akhtar, PIA General Manager Talat Omar and Director General of Haj Shahid Khan were also present.
Aziz during his visit held wide-ranging talks with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. They discussed major global issues, most importantly the latest developments in Palestine and the situation in Iraq as well as ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas. Aziz visited Yemen before he came to Saudi Arabia.
