JEDDAH, 16 June 2006 — A group of joyriding youngsters gave the police a run in Khamis Mushayt’s Rasras district, Al-Riyadh reported yesterday. If one of the kids were still alive, I’m sure he would have decided to stay home instead of submitting to peer pressure and taunting local police with reckless driving. Instead, he jumped out of the car and fled to a local construction site to hide from the cops, fell through a covered portal into an underground water tank and drowned. Police are investigating the incident and, hopefully, the dead boy’s friends will think twice before playing games with cars and cops.
