New Network for Erfan Hospital

Dr. Erfan & Bagedo General Hospital has chosen to deploy Nortel technology. The hospital needs to connect its data via a robust, resilient, and reliable network that supports effective data flow throughout the facility. Medical staff will be able to access and retrieve patient records from anywhere in the hospital or outside at anytime, thus raising the bar of efficiency and productivity for the staff.

Dr. Erfan & Bagedo General Hospital will deploy their infrastructure solution with the support of system integrator and Nortel channel partner Baud Telecom. They will integrate Nortel’s Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 solution that delivers a reliable, secure and intelligent network routing solution for converged applications and Nortel’s Ethernet Routing Switch 5510.

Fujitsu Siemens Virtualization Tour

Riyadh was the venue for the fourth leg of Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) eight country Middle East Virtualization Tour. FSC partnered with AMD and Network Appliances to offer a blueprint for a virtualized data center.

“The cooperation of three major players is a significant step in the regional development and education of the virtualization concept,” said Stephane Rejasse, GM, Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “This event gave IT managers an overview of the Dynamic Data Center and presented them with results of a study that validated positive ROI for companies involved in virtualization projects.”

Virtualization is an umbrella term for a number of technologies that divide computer resources into multiple independent working parts. The event focused in particular on how companies can make better use of IT resources if they separate applications and data from dedicated servers, and instead, pool and share resources as needed. In this way, IT managers can move resources around much more easily and take advantage of a much higher level of hardware resource capacity.

IBM and SAP Road Show

IBM, together with SBM, its General Marketing and Services Representative in Saudi Arabia, and SAP held a road show in Saudi Arabia last week. The presentations in Jeddah, Riyadh and Alkhobar aimed to inform businesses about the latest IBM technology and “System p infrastructure” in the SAP environment.
