DUBAI, 22 June 2006 — Another talent search will soon be launched by The Filipino Channel (TFC) in Dubai, this time for the reality show Pinoy Big Brother (PBB).
Filipinos within the 18-27 years old range who are willing to be trained in a boarding school in the Philippines — where they will be filmed with hidden cameras throughout their stay — are invited to join the search, said Art Los Baños, senior sales and marketing manager for the Middle East of ABS-CBN Global.
PBB Director Lauren Dyogi and a representative from Endemol, copyright owner of Big Brother and Star Academy, are conduct the search in Dubai, which will start July 14, said Los Baños.
The auditions are for the first Pinoy Dream Academy to be held this year and for Pinoy Big Brother season 2, which will start early next year.
The Dream Academy is the ultimate singing superstar search where students live and train together. It is patterned after the Star Academy.
The new follows the Gulfwide TFC Pop Star Search, which was won by a teenage high school student from Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
PBB has already done three highly-successful shows: season 1 with 25-year old Nene Tamayo as grand winner, celebrity edition with actress Keanna Reeves as eventual winner, and teen edition with Chinese Kim Chiu as the recent winner.
Los Baños said that those who would like to be part of these shows will have to follow the instructions on how to participate when the TV commercial is aired soon on TFC.
Applicants should bring their original copy of birth certificate and/or passport, close up and full body pictures, and valid ID.
“After passing the interview portion of the auditions, applicants will have to undergo a series of medical examinations like stress and drug tests,” said Los Baños.
Currently the search is being conducted in the Philippines and will start its global leg in Sydney, Australia on July 8, Milan, Italy on July 22, Tokyo, Japan on July 29, and will end in San Francisco, USA on Aug. 5.
