JEDDAH, 7 July 2006 — The Consulate General of Pakistan has taken a number of initiatives and extended various facilities to the community. Its welfare wing provided 47 air tickets for stranded Pakistanis to return home. An amount of SR11,877 was given as financial help to the poor and needy. Additionally, the consulate paid SR4,220 as fine to release Pakistani prisoners and gave SR565 to the accident victims of Madinah-bound bus. The welfare wing recovered SR202,473 as blood money and SR87,992 as death compensation that has been sent to the legal heirs in Pakistan. The consulate has also arranged a medical camp at its premises on a fortnightly basis. The first camp was held on June 23. Three lady doctors and five male doctors provided treatment to 92 patients. Such camps will be held at 4 p.m. today (July 7), July 21 and Aug. 4.
