TAIF, 9 July 2006 — A particular thief in Al-Moawaih certainly likes to push the limits of his “profession.” Not only did he steal a cop’s car, but he stole it while it was parked in front of a mosque. The daily Al-Riyadh reported yesterday that policemen returning from prayer were surprised to see that their car had gone missing. The thief may have been brave, but, like most thieves, he wasn’t very smart. Among all the technological communications gadgets that police cars have are GPS tracking doo-dads designed specifically to quickly locate missing police vehicles. The thief was arrested as he attempted to flee with the car, which he abandoned next to a trash bin when he saw cops approaching.
