YANBU, 10 July 2006 — A poor youth, driving his worn-out car through a hilly area of Yanbu after sunset, heard a voice crying for help, reported the Al-Madinah daily. The young man got out of the car and tried to find the source of the plea. On searching, he found a young woman lying in a ravine below with her leg broken. Despite the pain the girl refused help from the youth. Instead she asked the youth to fetch her father and gave the location of her house, which was several kilometers away. The helpful youth drove all the way to her house and notified her father. Together they brought up the girl and the youngster drove the man and his daughter to the hospital. After several days the youth could not believe his eyes when the father of the girl paid him a visit saying his daughter had fully recovered and that he would like him to take her hand in marriage while setting a dowry of just SR100. The youngster was over the moon; he had been looking for a bride for several months but could not afford the steep dowries.
