RIYADH, 12 July 2006 — Samba Financial Group has recorded 56.4 percent increase in profits for their first six months of this year at SR2.83 billion compared to SR1.81 billion last year. Essa Al-Essa, Samba managing director & CEO, said that the increase in profits is reflective of the bank’s strong performance.

BSF Records SR1.685bn Profit

The Banque Saudi Fransi (BSF) achieved a net profit of SR1.685 billion for the first half of year 2006, compared with SR1.004 billion from the same period last year. This is an increase by 68 percent. The profit per share reached SR4.99 compared with SR2.98 from the same period last year. Ibrahim Al-Touq, chairman of the bank, said that the positive results of the first half of the bank prove the bank ability to develop and achieve more good results in the future.

SAFCO’s Profit Rises to SR565.4m

The Saudi Arabia Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO) announced a net profit of SR565.4 million for the first half of year 2006 compared with SR474.2 million from the same period last year. The second quarter net profit reached SR290 million compared with SR237.8 million from the same period last year.
