JEDDAH, 13 July 2006 — Effat College has become a certified TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam center for women here. Effat College has completed all the procedures for certifying its computer labs and lab administrators to start administering the Internet-based TOEFL exam starting in Aug. 18, according to the schedule set with international Educational Testing Services (ETS). Students can register on-line or by mail. The TOEFL is the globally recognized standard for English certification and is often used by employers to determine job applicants’ English-skills. Students that pass the TOEFL gain an advantage over those that do not for jobs that require English-speaking and writing aptitude.
