RIYADH, 13 July 2006 — The Saudi Cement Company announced a net profit of SR327.630 million for the first half of year 2006 compared with SR248.949 million from the same period last year, which is an increase by 32 percent from last year.
Saudi Automotive Profit Up 254%

RIYADH — The Saudi Automotive Services Co. announced that the company achieved SR9.4 million in profit for the second quarter of this year. The total profit for the first half of the year reached SR34.3 million, which is an increase by 254 percent from last year. The company is looking forward to achieve more positive results by the end of the year.
Arriyadh Posts SR32.1m Profit

RIYADH — Arriyadh Development Co. announced a net profit of SR32.1 million for the first half of year 2006, compared with SR29.5 million from the same period last year, which is an increase by 9 percent. The profit per share increased to SR0.32 per share compared with SR0.29 per share from the same period last year.

Jordan’s Trade Gap Widens 20%

AMMAN — Jordan’s trade deficit grew by 20.1 percent in the first five months of the year, to 1.939 billion dinars ($2.739 billion) from 1.615 billion dinars in the same period of 2005, according to official statistics released on Tuesday. Economists attributed the widening trade gap mainly to a 16.8 percent rise in imports, which stood at 3.286 billion dinars in the first five months of 2006 compared with 2.814 billion dinars in the same period of 2005. Saudi Arabia, Jordan’s main oil supplier, topped the list of exporters to Jordan, followed by China and Germany respectively.
