ABU DHABI, 16 July 2006 — Etisalat has announced that prepaid “Wasel” customers can now use their mobile phones as normal even when they are outside the UAE. The corporation has completed the launch of prepaid roaming agreements with a number of operators in over 30 countries, and many more are to be launched soon. Etisalat “Wasel” customers can now make calls from their mobile phones, and will be charged at applicable roaming rates. Apart from agreements and commercial launch with operators in the GCC states, Etisalat has also concluded agreements for “Wasel” roaming in countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, UK, France, Egypt, Tunisia, Ukraine, Sudan, Russia, Spain and Morocco.
