HAIL, 22 July 2006 — A Saudi man was reportedly stopped by two men who identified themselves as undercover cops, the daily Okaz reported yesterday. They told the man he was a suspect in a criminal investigation and that they needed him to follow them to the local police station. Beforehand, they searched the “suspect” and claimed his valuables. He had just walked out of a bank. The “cops” confiscated the SR79,000 that the “suspect” had just withdrawn from the bank. They then told him he would get back his money at the police station. When he began to follow the men in his own car, they sped off, losing him in traffic. And, of course, when the man went to the police station, he discovered that he had just been robbed.
