BURAIDAH, 23 July 2006 — A wedding night ended with a throw down when the family of the groom objected to the presence of a wedding band, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday. The band, which had already set up, kicked off its first song as the fathers of the newlyweds were arguing over the matter. Upon hearing the music, the father of the groom stormed out of the wedding hall and said he would not return until that darned infernal racket stopped. The father of the bride apologized to the band and urged them to continue playing. As the ruckus continued, nobody seemed to notice the young couple quietly sneaking away from the whole mess, eager to begin their honeymoon. It took some time before the attendees noticed that the quests of honor had fled the scene.
