JEDDAH, 24 July 2006 — The Saudi stock market edged higher yesterday. The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) crossed the 11,000 mark to close at 11,008.7, up 230.45 points or 2.14 percent. Over SR20 billion worth of shares changed hands yesterday. Out of 81 shares traded, shares of five companies — Riyad Bank, Saudi Basic Industries Corp., Saudi Industrial Development Co., Filling & Packing Materials Manufacturing Co. and National Metal Manufacturing and Casting Co. — dropped, while shares of all other companies rose yesterday.
