ISLAMABAD, 17 August 2006 — Top brass of Pakistan Army, the Corps Commanders met here under the chairmanship of President Pervez Musharraf to review security environment and preparedness of the armed forces to thwart any misadventure by neighboring India.

Corps Commanders conference is the highest forum where vital military decisions are taken. This time the commanders are meeting in the wake of sudden change in Indian policy toward Pakistan.

Meanwhile, eight prominent leaders which include former Premier Mir Balkh Sher Mazari, former Speaker of the National Assembly Sayed Fakhar-e-Imam, former Speaker of the National Assembly Elahi Bux Soomro, former Deputy Speaker Wazir Jogezai, former MNA Mian Gul Auarganzeb, former Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Taj Jamali, former Chief Justice Sayed Sajjad Ali Shah and retired Justice Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui in an open letter addressed to Musharraf asked him to shed uniform.
