DUBAI, 3 November 2006 — A regular bus service between Sharjah and Jabel Ali has been launched. The trip, with a fare of AED10, will start from Rolla in Sharjah and end at the main gate of Jabel Ali Free Zone in Dubai. “A bus will run after every hour in this sector,” said Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, CEO of Dubai Public Transport.
“The new bus service will reduce the traffic congestion a lot, especially on Sharjah-Dubai road,” he added.
“We will launch bus service to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Jordan by 2008 and the services will be extended to Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and Syria in 2009, said Najib Al-Zarooni, director of the Inter-city Transport Department.
