DUBAI, 25 September 2006 — The Dubai Ladies Club (DLC) is organizing a host of activities to mark the holy month of Ramadan. The highlights of the DLC Ramadan calendar are the Ramadan Tent and Eid Festival week, in addition to a number of religious, intellectual and sports activities.
“DLC is organizing a varied and full calendar of events to mark the holy month of Ramadan which will further strengthen the position of the club as a leading regional, cultural and social center,” said Mona Binkilli, events manager at the Dubai Ladies Club.
According to the organizers, what makes Ramadan’s activities special this year is the Ramadan tent, which will welcome members and non-members till midnight for the entire month of Ramadan.
“The Ramadan tent by the beach will create the perfect ambience to hold Ramadan gatherings. The Eid Festival week is another highlight of DLC Ramadan activities. It will feature leading retailers offering special discounts to the ladies,” said Binkilli.
She said a number of social events would also be organized during the festival. “In line with the spirit of Ramadan, the Ladies Club will also host a series of religious lectures and seminars that will discuss various topics related to Islam and Ramadan,” she added.
The DLC Ramadan program includes special workshops, desert cooking demonstration and a jewelry exhibition.
The club will be open during Ramadan from 8:30 a.m. till midnight. Only the Art and Childcare Center will be closed between 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will operate again from 6.30 p.m. to midnight.
