JEDDAH, 27 September 2006 — The 2nd National Commercial Bank Ramadan annual soccer tournament kicked off on Monday night at the Al-Ahli Stadium in Rehab district here with hosts NCB beating Safaa Company 2-0 and Al-Raqqi Card Company playing out a 1-1 draw against Mohammed Aboud Al-Amoudi Company.

According to the tournament’s PR man Jameel Fallatah the tournament is open free to the public and two matches at 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. are played daily.

Director of the organizing committee Marwan Daftardar supervised the tournament along with president of the financial committee Feras Al-Turki and Khalid Masoud, member of the technical committee. Two former Al-Ahli players Hussam Abu Dawoud and Ammar Al-Najjar are also in the executive committee.

The tournament attracted 12 teams. Mohammed Aboud Al-Amoudi, NCB (first team), Safaa and Al-Raqqi Card make up the teams in Group A. Abdulkhaliq Saeed Company, Al-Serafi Mega Mall, Al-Khair Company and Saab Company of Mansour Al-Balawi are bracketed in Group B, while NCB (second team), Hatco Telecommunications, Al-Jandoul Company and Mohammed Yousif Naghi Co. LG comprise Group C.

The LG best player of the match award went to Khalaf Al-Zahrani in the first match and Abdulrahman Bukhari in the second match.
