JEDDAH, 30 September 2006 — Abdulkhaliq Saeed Company and Serafi Mega Mall advanced into the second round with victories against separate opponents on Thursday in the 2nd National Commercial Bank Ramadan annual soccer tournament at the Al-Ahli Stadium in Rehab district.
Abdulkhaliq Saeed beat Saab Company 2-1 and Serafi Mega Mall downed Al-Khair Company 3-1 on a hat trick by Waleed ibn Madi, as both winners qualified for the second round with 6 and 5 points respectively.
Saab took a 1-0 lead. Khalid Gahwaji restored parity in the match by scoring the equalizer before Yahya Moussa’s goal sealed the win for Saeed.
In Wednesday’s matches, Hatco crushed Mohammed Yousif Naghi Co. LG team 5-0 and Al-Jandoul Company defeated NCB first team 2-0. Named LG Star Player of the Match were Hatco’s Abdu Idrees in the first game and Al-Jandoul’s Mohammed Salim in the second game. On Tuesday, Saab Company captained by former national team standout Saeed Al-Owairan scored a 3-1 victory against Al-Khair Company, and Saeed Company drew with Serafi Mega Mall 1-1.
Organizers are inviting football fans to come to the Ahli Stadium and enjoy the matches. Admission is open free to the public.
The matches today pit NCB first team against LG and Al-Jandoul against Hatco. The first match kicks off at 10 p.m. and the second at 11:30 p.m.
