RIYADH, 3 October 2006 — The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has recorded 165 million SMS text messages sent during the first three days of Ramadan.
During the same period 1.533 million MMS picture and file transfers were also registered when Al-Jawal customers exchanged Ramadan greetings with their friends and relatives. “STC has made an exceptional achievement in processing calls and SMS messages with high quality despite their density in the beginning of Ramadan,” a statement issued yesterday said. “Al-Jawal unit has spared no efforts in making this unique achievement in processing this huge volume of messages between Al-Jawal customers.”
