MAKKAH, 3 October 2006 — Residents of Taif and Hada can now reach Makkah using a cable car for part of the way. The service will utilize the scenic cable car to deliver pilgrims to Al-Kar where public transport buses will take them on to the parking area in Kudai near the Grand Mosque.
The cable car will be used to circumvent the construction that had shut the Hada-Makkah Road, a major artery between Taif and Makkah.
On the directives of Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed, Taif Investment and Tourism Company will operate the facility from 4 p.m. to midnight.
