JEDDAH, 3 October 2006 — Saab booked a spot in the second round with a 1-1 draw against Serafi Mega Mall on Sunday in the 2nd National Commercial Bank Ramadan annual soccer tournament here.

Saab became the third team after Abdulkhaliq Saeed Company and Serafi Mega Mall to advance into the next stage of the competition at the Al-Ahli Stadium in Rehab district where daily matches are played at 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

Serafi striker Mohammed Al-Bishi put his team first on the scoresheet but Khalid Mustapha scored the equalizer for Saab, and the 1-1 deadlock stood till the end of the match.

Saeed Company beat Al-Khair Company 2-1 in the day’s other match.

According to the tournament’s PR man Jameel Fallatah, Al-Raqqi Card Company and NCB (second team) played what was easily the best match of the tournament as they thrilled the crowd during their match 2-2 draw on Saturday.

In another entertaining match, Safaa Company beat Mohammed Aboud Al-Amoudi 2-1.

In other matches, Hatco Company and Al-Jandoul Company battled to a goalless draw. NCB first team captained by Mohammed Al-Khilaiwi banked on a goal by Rayan Afsh to defeat Mohammed Yousif Naghi Co. LG 1-0.

With few more days left before the tournament ends, former Al-Ahli club player Hussam Abu Dawoud in the executive committee said the matches of late are getting more exciting and goals galore.
