DUBAI, 4 October 2006 — The Dubai Municipality is set to open the seventh public library in the emirate with the promise of a wide range of latest books on a variety of topics and information material, including audio and visual content.
The 10-million-dirham library in Al-Towar is expected to be open after Eid Al-Fitr, a top municipality official confirmed yesterday.
The municipality, which completed works of the two-story library in July this year, is currently giving final touches to the facility such as arranging books and other materials, furnishing the administrative offices, organizing a dedicated facility for children, and finishing works of a multi-purpose.
The premises include a main library of 12,000 books and with a capacity for 150 readers and a children’s library of 9,000 books with a capacity for 100 readers. There would be two multipurpose halls for both adults and children with a capacity of 150 persons each, in addition to a cafeteria, administration block and prayer rooms.
