ABHA, 10 October 2006 — Saudi actor Faiz Al-Maliki will present a new drama, “Mnahi Tarat bihi Al-Malayin” (Millions Took Away Mnahi) in the three-day Eid festivals in Riyadh at the Kingdom’s Schools Theater. Al-Maliki became very popular with the serial film last Ramadan, Ekhwani wa Akhwati, in which he played the role of Mnahi. Al-Maliki told Al-Watan newspaper that several other Saudi actors — Abdul Mohsen Al-Namir, Awadh Abdullah, Ali Al-Shahabi and Saeed Saleh — are playing a role in the new drama.
Commenting on the currently being shown, Abu Shalakh Al-Burmai, in which he plays the lead role, Al-Maliki said the viewer feedback had been excellent. He said the serial was shot at various locations in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Syria and Jordan. The time of the show also helps to increase the number of the viewers. The comedy also presents some international political figures of the past such as Roosevelt and Hitler, Al-Watan reported yesterday. Al-Maliki expects a boom in Saudi drama productions as they are in great demand. Most Gulf and Arab channels want to air them.
