BANGALORE, 12 October 2006 — Indian IT services giant Infosys yesterday posted a better-than-expected 52 percent jump in second-quarter net profit and raised earnings projections as outsourcing boomed.

Net profit of the NASDAQ-listed company climbed to Rs.9.3 billion ($206 million) for the three months to Sept. 30 on revenues which rose 50.4 percent to Rs.34.5 billion, the company announced in a statement.
