ABHA, 15 October 2006 — Saudi actor Abdulilah Al-Sinani will play the lead role in a multilanguage television serial based on a Shakespearian play, the Al-Watan daily reported yesterday. Several changes have been made in the original story to suit modern times.
“Ahlam Otayl” (“Otayl’s Dreams”) directed by Mohamed Meftah tells the story of a North African ambassador carried away by the dreams and fantasies of an Arab immigrant.
The cast of the film includes a number of English, French and Italian actors. The film will be in English, French and Italian as well as Arabic. It is a joint production of Moroccan TV and French Channel 2.
Meanwhile, Al-Sinani told Al-Watan that his latest television serial “Al-Duat Abwab Jahannam,” (“Callers to Hellfire”) had received unprecedented support from across the Arab world.
The serial, which shows how terrorism spreads its evil in the Muslim world, has been shown by several Arab TV channels this month.
