TABUK, 11 November 2006 — A young woman in this northern city managed to stop her husband taking on a second wife by enlisting the help of her estranged mother-in-law, the Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. When the young woman learned of her husband’s secret plan to remarry she decided to bury all her differences with her mother-in-law and enlisted her support to dissuade the man from marrying again. The woman scolded her son and ordered him to not go ahead with his plan, as she feared the move would further alienate the first wife. The son had no choice but to comply with his mother’s wish and cancelled his marriage plans.
