MUMBAI, 12 November 2006 — Four close associates of prime conspirator Tiger Memon were held guilty in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case by designated Judge P.D. Kode of the special Terrorists and Disruptive Activities Act (TADA) court for abetment in the blasts and for providing vehicles, concealing arms and participating in meetings in Dubai and assisting in landing operations of smuggled arms, ammunitions and RDX explosives.
The four accused Raju Laxmichand Jain alias Raju Jain, Ayub Ibrahim Patel, Farouk Motorwala and Mujib Parkar were also pronounced guilty of abetting the commission of terrorist act which resulted in the serial blasts at several places in Mumbai.
Pronouncing the verdict in a packed courtroom, Judge Kode accepted the prosecution’s charges that accused Jain had supplied his men and four jeeps to the prime conspirator Yakub Memon for transporting a consignment of arms, ammunitions and RDX explosives from Shekhadi coastal belt in Raigad to Mumbai. Jain had also provided a two wheeler of one of his employees which was used in the blasts at Katha market that killed four and injured 26 people.
