BEIRUT, 15 November 2006 — Lebanese singer Nawal Al-Zoghby has finished recording two of her latest songs in the streets of Beirut where life is returning to normal after the country was devastated in the recent Israeli bombardment, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday.
One of the songs called “Adi” (Normal) shows how life for ordinary Lebanese is returning to normal and tells the story of a young woman who falls in love with her Yoga instructor. The song was written by Saud Al-Sharbatly.
Nawal, who refused to leave Lebanon during the heavy bombings, was the first Arab singer to send out a cry for help to the music world in support of the helpless and displaced in Lebanon.
She visited schools where families took refuge in southern Lebanon. Nawal also started a Help Lebanon Campaign to support refugees. As part of the campaign Nawal personally visited people living in schools and parks, distributing food and medicine.
