DIB Receives New Ratings

DUBAI, 19 November 2006 — Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) announced yesterday that it has received A1/Prime-1 foreign currency issuer ratings. All ratings carry stable outlooks. According to Moody’s, “DIB’s foreign currency issuer ratings are based on the bank’s adequate intrinsic safety and soundness and DIB’s systemic importance as the largest Islamic bank in the UAE.” The Moody’s report stated that rating assigned to DIB reflects its strong franchise as a leading Islamic financial institution and its satisfactory financial fundamentals.” Saad Abdul Razak, CEO of DIB said: “Moody’s A1/ Prime-1 rating is another feather in DIB’s cap. This rating comes close on the heels of Standards & Poor’s assigning ‘A’ long term & ‘A1’ short-term rating.
