ABHA, 20 November 2006 — The efforts of nine brothers to reconcile their parents, who had been divorced for the past 17 years, succeeded on Friday when their father, who is in his 70s, and their 50-year-old mother, agreed to get married, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday. The mother had married another man after the divorce. However, her second husband died shortly after she gave birth to a son and had remained a widow ever since. The sons could not bear to see their beloved mother silently suffering, so they applied pressure on both their parents to forget and forgive. The idea was initially dismissed but the sons eventually managed to reunite the estranged couple.
