RIYADH, 21 November 2006 — A Saudi-based Indian theater group staged a play that left the audience thrilled and spell-bound during the entire two-and-a-half hour showing.
The play, entitled “Aadu Puli Aatam,” was held at the Indian Embassy Auditorium and was organized by the Indian Tamil Fine Arts Association (ITFAA).
The Tamil stage show was inaugurated by K. Muralidharan, second secretary in the embassy. The function started with a dance performed by Rani Shivaram. The play was written, developed and directed by Jayaselan.
Kalyanraman and Aparna Raman played the lead roles.
Jayaselan, who is also ITFAA chief, said: “ITFA is a social organization involved in promoting various cultural activities. The ITFAA works with a mission to serve Indian expatriates, while working to take Tamil theater to the next generation with contemporary themes and high-valued production.”
