CAIRO, 25 November 2006 — Lebanese TV presenter and actress Razan Moughrabi suffered multiple concussions after a fall while working on her new film “Hokm Al-Gharam,” the daily Asharq Al-Awsat reported yesterday.
The accident occurred after she was hit in the face by fellow actor Khaled Al-Sawi, as required by one of the scenes of the film. Razan had specifically asked Khaled to make the blow hard enough to make it look as natural as possible. Upon impact of the strike, she fell to the floor and lost consciousness. Razan was rushed to the Al-Safa Hospital’s emergency ward.
“Even though Khaled had warned me in advance, I did not expect that his blow to be so hard,” Razan said in an interview with the newspaper. “Thank God that the blow will look original on screen,” she added.
Meanwhile, Khaled said that the scene demanded that he hold her hands firmly and hit hard on the face. “I warned her that it would be dangerous as there was a chance of the blow throwing her off balance but she insisted that I follow the script,” he said.
Doctors treating her at the hospital said her condition was stable and she would be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.
