JEDDAH, 3 December 2006 — Al-Ittihad’s table tennis team held on to their title with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Al-Ahli in Saudi Table Tennis Championship in Riyadh on Friday night. Ittihad and Ahli fans in large numbers cheered their teams on. Ittihad won the first match 3-1, Ahli leveled with a 3-1 win, and went ahead with a 3-2 win for a 2-set edge. Ittihad equalized in the fourth match 3-0 and took the deciding match 3-2.

Qadisiya Jump to Tenth

DAMMAM, 3 December 2006 — Al-Qadisiya secured their second win in the Saudi Football League after defeating Khaleej 2-1 at the Prince Muhammad ibn Fahd Stadium in Dammam. Muhammad Al-Sahlawi and Yousuf Al-Salem scored for Qadisiya in 4th and 77th minute. The only goal for Khaleej came in the 445th minute through Hasan Al-Rahib. Qadisiya go to tenth position with seven points while Khaleej are last with only six points.

Hilal, Nasr to Clash

RIYADH, 3 December 2006 — Al-Hilal and Al-Nasr will clash in Riyadh derby today in round 9 of the Saudi Soccer League competition. Hilal enter the match with 21 points in first place. Nasr are in eighth position with 10 points. The match is expected to be keen, especially after Nasr’s fine performance in the Arab Champions League in Algeria. Nasr can get a boost with a win in the much-awaited derby. Hilal too will be eyeing three points to increase the gap from second placed Al-Shabab. Al-Ittihad will host Al-Ittifaq of Dammam at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah. Ittihad enter the match with 16 points from seven matches in fourth place while Ittifaq are sixth with 11 points from eight matches.
