DUBAI, 4 December 2006 — Sheikh Mohammed ibn Rashid Al-Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, will inaugurate the fourth Annual Arab Strategy Forum (ASF) today at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.
The three-day forum will welcome over 22 governmental heads and 33 global industry leaders. The working sessions will bring together Arab and international heads of state and government with more than 600 of the most influential leaders from the Arab and the rest of the world. The speaker list, which boasts a lineup of 114 regional and international leaders from the government, business, political and media sectors, underpins the importance of the ASF as a holistic forum for the strategic development of the Arab world.
Focusing on four distinct tracks — governance, the CEO agenda, Arab society and socio-economic — the ASF is being earmarked as the leading Arab platform for strategic thinking and the main launch pad for regional programs and initiatives.
The event will see special addresses given by top Iranian nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, and Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif.
“The presence of illustrious heads of state and distinguished business leaders underscores the event as one of the region’s major gathering points. Their participation will help formulate a powerful and structured framework for regional development, through the exploration of insightful perspectives that they will offer,” said Mohammed Al-Gergawi, minister of state for Cabinet affairs and chairman of the ASF organizing committee.
Many high-ranking delegates from the Arab countries will participate in the ASF.
