WADI HASHBAL, 9 December 2006 — The serenity of worshippers performing their Fajr (dawn) prayers was broken recently in this small village by the sound of a newborn baby crying, the daily Al-Madinah reported yesterday. Eventually the worshippers found a baby wrapped in a blanket in the corner of the mosque. The bundle included a bottle of baby formula and a few hundred riyals, apparently left by a parent unwilling or unable to take care of the child. Police are investigating.
